Refund Policy

At WeChipIn, we want donors to feel completely safe and secure when supporting a cause. Because funds are routed to independent organizers via Stripe Connect, our refund policy is designed to protect both our donors and our platform integrity.
1. Standard Donations
Because WeChipIn facilitates direct transfers between donors and organizers, donations are generally non-refundable once the transaction is complete and the 7-day holding period has passed, making the funds available to the organizer.
2. The WeChipIn Giving Guarantee
We stand behind the safety of our platform. We will issue a full refund to your original payment method in the following specific scenarios:
- Fraudulent Campaigns: If a campaign is determined to be fraudulent, intentionally misleading, or in violation of our Terms of Service before the funds are dispersed.
- Unauthorized Transactions: If your payment method was used on our platform without your legal consent.
3. Requesting a Refund
To request a refund under the Giving Guarantee, please contact our support team at help@wechipin.org within 7 days of your donation date. Please include your donation receipt email, the transaction ID, and a brief explanation for the request.
4. Chargebacks and Disputes
If you initiate a chargeback with your bank or credit card company, WeChipIn is required by our payment processor (Stripe) to freeze the associated campaign funds while the dispute is investigated. We strongly encourage donors to contact us first to resolve any issues quickly and amicably without involving bank dispute fees.
